Impact on India
When Great Britain imperialized India it politically, socially, and economically changed. India was both benefited from and was also harmed by British colonialism. The negative outcome was that the British held much of the political and economic power the whole time. The British restricted the Indian industries such as their cotton textiles. India also converted into cash crops which reduced their food production, which caused famines in the late 1800"s. On a positive note, after the railroad network was built India developed a modern economy and brought unity to different regions that were connected to the railroads. Going along with positive outcomes, public health improved tremendously. Finally, the British adopted the Laissez- faire also known as the "Hands-off government" policy.
